This is an optional activity. I feel it is more suitable for psychology and for those that have an interest in London's history. However, the activity does serve in achieving two important things: one, it sheds light on the conditions of an industrial city in the late 19th century, and; two, it helps us to appreciate how those conditions enabled one man to terrorize a city. We must also note that in no small way did the actions of Jack the Ripper lead to social reform programs in London's poorer neighborhoods.
